I only hope that in July Synod passes women bishops in as simple a form as possible, with "provision" being left to the conscience of the diocesan concerned. Rowan's presidential address was no apology at all - he still has LGBT people down as unfit to represent the Church - which is a joke when there are so many LGBT clergy, out and closeted, in the C of E. And she is right about the covenant - we should have nothing to do with it - it is profoundly unAnglican. And I simply can't see the C of E wanting to sign up to the top tier with the Biblically pure Ugandans Nigerians and ACNA and the rest. Which would make any ABC look really stupid. The Synod in its pension rights vote showed the clearest sign that in England Anglican Christians recognise gay people as having relationships vthat must be acknowledged and cared for as other ones are - it is just that they did it in a typically Anglican way - not facing the issue head on but doing it by acting over something else. Sometime, someone is going to have to put their head over the parapet and challenge the truth and usefulness of the Higton motion, Lambeth 1:10, Issues, and all the rest of the dishonest paraphanalia that is used to keep LGBT people in their marginal place.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8443447842611499359.post-21972271875347595922010-02-16T16:57:50.078+00:002010-02-16T16:57:50.078+00:00Thank you for your faithful fight over 40 years!
