  1. Dialogue, with a question mark...!

Well, Sylvia is very pro-gay. The Major is an HIV activist, seropositive, who has been fearless in his advocacy for inclusion of gay people in Uganda's HIV prevention programs.

Yes, it is true that Uganda has not been having HIV prevention for gay people... Understandable with all the homophobia.

The Reverand is Anti-gay. So is Bahati, of course. The Reverand is the one who is supposed to be the official Church of Uganda spokesperson. And, he has been very vocal. For example, he wants to put emphasis on 'Life imprisonment' instead of death, because in death, we cannot be 'corrected' of our awful sins.

    Dialogue?

I predict a shouting match. And by the way, the University is where Pastor Ssempa teaches, has his church. So, the Ssempa gang will be there.

If you dont know them, these are 'brown shirts' who demonstrate and do everything according to what the dear pastor says.

    Dialogue?

Well, it will be a debate... Maybe.

But, it will most likely degenerate into a farce, with Pastor Ssempa and co drowning out the voices of Sylvia and the Major.

    Dialogue??

    I hope I am wrong!

  2. I've not heard anything further on this 'public dialogue'. The Human Rights and Peace Centre's website doesn't list in its events sections. Anyone have any news?
